Spasso @ Ocean Centre

After settling down in the hotel & get some rest, we headed back to Harbour City for our Christmas eve dinner.

The place is really crowded now as everyone is getting ready to get a space for the Christmas countdown.

Spasso @ Ocean Centre.

The menu for our five course dinner is placed nicely on out plate.

Spasso's home baked bread served with pasto, vinegar with olive oil & chili oil.

Prosecco Conti D'Arco. A perfect sparkling wine to start off with our dinner.

Duo of Carpaccio. Snapper carpaccio with strawberry foam & Mediterranean octopus carpaccio served with a light basil coulis.

Tortellini della Nanna. Home-made & triple cooked tortellini in a consomme (clear soup) that is accordance to Nanna's Christmas recipe.

Atlantic cod linguini served with sea cod ragout & Italian white bean tossed with light cherry tomato sauce.

Duo of Pork. 48 hours slow cooked Berkshire pork belly with pumpkin mash & lentils served with Kurobuta tenderloin with baby vegetables & potato fondue. Pork is really tender & juicy.

Slow cooked sea bass fillet served on a bed of celeriac puree with Piccadilly tomatoes, Altedo green asparagus & candies orange peels. Crispy on one side and tender on the other side.

Chestnut strudel with chocolate & raisins, flavored with XO Cognac served with warm sabayan sauce & dark chocolate ice cream. This dessert is beyond words. It's just too yummy to describe. Haha

After dinner & some time calculation, we decided that taking 1 hour earlier before the Christmas countdown is sufficient enough.

However, to our surprise, the place is really crowded and instead of taking 30 minutes to reach Lan Kwai Fong, it took us 1 hour 30 minutes to reach!!! We need to walk a big round with the strating point at SOHO.

And this is the first thing we saw when we've reached. Haha

Matterhon Bistro @ Jalan Ros Merah

Matterhon Bistro @ Jalan Ros Merah

Budweiser.

Esprit Raspberry.

Cream of Mushroom Soup. Not as creamy as it's stated & the soup is also tasteless. I think it will be better with a little more salt & cream.

Smoked salmon salad with assorted vegetables.

Grilled lamb chop served with mashed potato, coleslaw & black pepper sauce.

Grilled cod fish served with assorted vegetables, mashed potato & cream mustard sauce. Well grilled & tender.

Chicken Ala Kiev. Deep fried chicken stuffed with seafood (mainly scallop) served with coleslaw & potato wedges topped with creamy lemon sauce. Crispy on the outside tender on the inside. Though I think it will be better with ham & cheese. Yea you know what is it right? Haha.

Affogato. Espresso topped with vanilla ice cream. Espresso is too hot and the ice cream melted too fast & it is also not well presented. The one I've had at Olio is much better to be honest.

Ingredients for the mixed fruits flambee.

One of the staff with getting ready to flame the fruits up with the liquor.

and.....the end result.
Mixed fruits flambee topped with vanilla & chocolate ice creams & nut flakes. Fruits are all too sour though.

Overall, the foods are not really that good & are also too costly. Guess I won't be visiting this place any time soon.

Tanzini @ G Tower Hotel

Tanzini Italian Restaurant @ G Tower Hotel

The place is kinda quiet when we arrive as it was still early.

Consome of Tomato & Bos. Clear tomato broth served with crab meat. A very healthy appetizer.

Soft Shell Crab Tempura.

Pollo alla Cacciatore (Hunter's Chicken Stew). Tender and juicy chicken served with mini potatoes and topped with Tanzini's homemade sauce.

Atlantic Black Cod.

Lavender Sorbetto.

From left, Lavender Sorbetto, Tiramisu A Pezzi, Raspberry Gelato and Manjari Veloute.

Olio Italian Restaurant @ Renaissance Melaka

It's a lobster month at Olio Italian Restaurant.

Freshly baked bread from the oven. Crispy yet soft bread and it goes well with the pesto and olive dip.

After looking through the lobster menu, there is nothing much to choose and so we decided to order the lobster salad. Salad was fresh but there's nothing special about it beside the lobster. Overall was not bad though.

Creamy mushroom soup.

Minestrone soup.

Grilled tuna with cous-cous on Olio's homemade tomato sauce.

Spaghetti Bolognese (chicken).

Lamb shank with grilled vegetables. The taste is good but it's not really tender though.

Roasted cod served with mashed potatoes & grilled vegetables topped with Olio's homemade sauce.

Pizza Uzzolo. A combination of thinly sliced mushroom, hams and onions.

Espresso topped with vanilla ice cream. The richness of each sip of the espresso with a spoon full vanilla ice cream, make it a perfect combination.

Tiramisu.
