OHAN Japanese Restaurant @ Kota Laksamana

Checking out Melaka's new Japanese restaurant, OHAN.

Sake (RM26).

Salmon belly (RM15).

Kani karaage salada (RM20). Deep fried soft shell crab salad served with wasabi dressing. As far as I know, this is one of the best soft shell crab salad I've had. The soft shell crab was really crispy and the salad goes really well with the wasabi sauce.

Shake kawa salada (RM18). Deep fried salmon skin salad served with sweet and sour dressing. Salad was well prepared but the salmon skin is a little too hard. But it's still a dish worth trying.

Tosa agedashi dofu (RM7). Deep fried bean curd that is coated with bonito flake served with spring onions, red chilli radish and soya sauce. Crispy on the outside soft in the inside and the sauce is just well balance.

Deep fried soft shell crab (RM20). Just the soft shell crab from the salad was not enough and so we ordered more! Haha.

Shake (Salmon) (RM22),

Shitake (Wild mushroom) (RM7).

Ebi tempura (RM25). Tiger prawn tempura with grated radish, ginger and dipping sauce. After trying so many prawn tempura, this is by far one of my favorite. The batter was really crispy and better yet, it's not dark in color and the prawn was still juicy and tender. This is definitely a dish that I will go back for more.

Ebi tempura maki (RM19). Deep fried prawn tempura and avocado wrapped with sushi rice and coated with tempura flakes.

Shake daikon age maki (RM19), fresh salmon and white radish wrapped with deep fried dry seaweed.

Tendon (RM15). Deep fried prawn and vegetables tempura served with rice.

Black sesame ice cream (RM7).

Green tea ice cream topped with red bean (RM9). Both of the ice cream was really nice. According to 1 of the staff, though it's not homemade but it's 100% imported from Japan and so he advised us to give it a try.

Abekawa mochi (RM11). Japanese rice cake tossed with peanut and cashew nut powder. The rice cake was hot and chewy, but the peanut and cashew nut powder wasn't so good. Though if there are able to make a more powdery nuts coat with a little more taste, it would then be a perfect desert.

Dinner was really satisfying and I'll definitely go back for more.
